The churches in Monmouth Marches Ministry Area are keen to welcome families with children. Jesus clearly states that church is a place where children should not only be made welcome but should be celebrated and learnt from. We hope that you and your children will join us in both fellowship and worship.
Churches like St Mary’s Priory Church, St Michael’s, Mitchel Troy and St Nicholas, Trellech have a dedicated play area within the church.
St Thomas’ runs a messy church in Ty Price once a month and a ‘Jam’ Jesus and me service in the church once a month. On Thursday mornings St Thomas’ runs Tommy’s Tiddlers in the Ty Price Centre for parents and children. They also run ‘Meet and Eat’ free lunches on Monday and Friday mornings and children are welcome with parents.
St Mary’s Priory Church has a 4 pm cafe service every week which includes songs and crafts for children. St Mary’s also runs a tadpole’s group on Monday mornings where parents and small children can enjoy lots of fun activities in the Priory Centre, and they are hoping to start a Sunday morning ‘Bubble Church’ soon.
St Maughan’s has a monthly family service on the 1st Sunday of the month.
St Martin’s, Penyclawdd runs a ‘Sticky Fingers under 5s Nursery’. The children decorate the largest window of the church for the major festivals and have planted bulbs etc. in 2 tubs which flank the entrance to the porch. Photos of this can be seen on their church page!
St Michael’s, Mitchel Troy runs Sunday Breakfasts which occur about quarterly on the Sunday following a fifth Sunday. The church, being open all day every day, is available for children using the Swallow Park playground. They can also use the toilets and the dedicated play area in the church. Worship is around family size tables and a scrumptious breakfast is enjoyed by all.
